SBI ATM Pin Generation: Step by step guide to re-generate SBI ATM PIN

State Bank of India (SBI) has discontinued sending printed Personal Identification Number (PIN) for all types of personalized ATM card issued after November 2016. The bank has adopted a user friendly and secure process of Green PIN generation, in this process customer receives a temporary ATM PIN which is valid for 48 hours from bank to his/her registered mobile number.  In this article i will explain how to regenerate your SBI ATM PIN for the first time and also at any point of time thereafter.

SBI ATM PIN Re-Generation:

Green PIN for SBI ATM card can be generated by five different procedure and they are through SMS, IVRS, SBI ATM, SBI Internet Banking (Online SBI), SBI Quick application.

SMS:

Send SMS in the following format
PIN<SPACE><CCCC><SPACE><AAAA> TO 567676
(Where CCCC is the last four digit of your 16 or 19 digit card number and AAAA is the last four digit of your 11 digit CBS account number.)

For Example:

PIN 1234 4321 to 567676 from your registered mobile number.

One Time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the Registered mobile number of the account holder and it will be valid for 48 hours and must be used to change the PIN on State Bank ATM.

Navigation: Punch your ATM Card in ATM Machine, Select Language, Select Banking Option, Then Select PIN Change.

One thing you need to remember, your telephone company will charge you for sending SMS to this number based on your present tariff (generally it costs Rs.3 per SMS).

IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System):

Call SBI Contact Center number (toll free) 1800112211 or 18004253800 from your registered mobile number.

First Select appropriate language, Then Press 2 for ATM related Services, then Press 1 for creation/re-generation of your ATM PIN.

Now you need to enter your 16 or 19 digit ATM card number and confirm. Then Enter your 11 digit CBS account number linked with that ATM card and confirm.

One Time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the Registered mobile number of the account holder and it will be valid for 48 hours and must be used to change the PIN on State Bank ATM.

Navigation: Punch your ATM Card in ATM Machine, Select Language, Select Banking Option, Then Select PIN Change.

ATM:

Visit any SBI ATM, insert your ATM Card then select PIN Generation on Home Page. Then enter your 11 digit CBS account number and confirm. Then enter your 10 digit registered mobile number and confirm.  OTP will be delivered on your registered mobile number.One Time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the Registered mobile number of the account holder and it will be valid for 48 hours and must be used to change the PIN on State Bank ATM.

Navigation: Punch your ATM Card in ATM Machine, Select Language, Select Banking Option, Then Select PIN Change.

SBI Quick Application:

Open SBI Quick Application, select  ATM cum Debit card then select generate green pin. Now insert the last 04 digit of 16 or 19 digit debit card and last 04 digit of your 11 digit CBS account number. Click on continue.  A confirmation SMS with OTP will be delivered on registered mobile number of the account holder.

One Time PIN (OTP) will be sent to the Registered mobile number of the account holder and it will be valid for 48 hours and must be used to change the PIN on State Bank ATM.

Navigation: Punch your ATM Card in ATM Machine, Select Language, Select Banking Option, Then Select PIN Change.

Internet Banking (Online SBI):

Login to your Internet Banking account, Click on E-Services, Then select ATM Card services, then select ATM PIN generation option, Select generation of PIN either by sending OTP or using profile password, Then select the account number and linked ATM card. Enter first 2 digit of your ATM PIN of your choice and last 2 digits will be sent on the registered mobile number and confirm. The 4 digits will be the New PIN.

Tips from author:

If you have Internet Banking activated, i would recommend you to use it for generation of ATM PIN. Otherwise you may use IVRS option. Sometime SMS/ ATM option remain down for maintenance purpose but  SBI’s Internet Banking site and IVRS is one of the best and remain active 24×7 (except for scheduled maintenance). Never share your ATM Card No/ PIN/ CVV to anyone, not even to the bankers.
